damask rose (dam-UH-sk) - the pink color of the damask rose

Literally, 'from Damascus' -

damask weave (DAM-uhsk) - the art of weaving patterns into textiles, almost invariably using a single color. The resulting fabric is considered reversible, which is the main feature that differentiates damask from brocade, both of which are jacquards.
